Metal Gear Solid is the game that really made me fall in love with gaming. Thank You Hideo Kojima for all you have done for this industry!
In 1998, Metal Gear Solid released on the PlayStation 1. At the time of it's release, I was 11 years old and just started to really appreciate what video games could be. The first time I played Metal Gear Solid was about 3 weeks after its launch and I have to say it changed my perspective on the games industry as a whole. The game not only had amazing gameplay but it brought a cinematic aspect to a video game that I had yet to see.
Yes, there had been other games before MGS1 that had great stories and amazing graphics for the time, but this game made me understand that video games could be just as cinematic and entertaining as movies. As some of you may know I have and always will be a Metal Gear fan. Outside of the debacle that happened during the release of Metal Gear Solid V, I still have hope that the series can be saved.
If Konami plays their cards right they can still save the Metal Gear Saga and bring it back from its horrendous ending, that was Metal Gear Survive. To Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Metal Gear Solid, I would like to share my Metal Gear Solid Legacy Review from 2013! The Legacy Collection included 8 games, an Artbook, and 2 Graphic Novel Movies for only $49.99! This was a great value for anyone that was a fan of the Metal Gear Saga! Check back soon for a new gameplay series I will be doing to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Metal Gear Solid, right here on Cinelinx!
