The Price and King are back and we are REROLLING EVERYTHING!
Yesterday, Bandai Namco announced KATAMARI DAMACY REROLL, a remaster of the 2004 PS2 Hit Katamari Damacy! This remaster is set to release on Nintendo Switch and Steam, but there is a catch. The Steam version of the game will be just the remaster, with all new cutscenes and upgraded graphics. The Nintendo Switch version will come with all the upgrades and also a new control scheme, that gives you the ability to control The Prince with just a turn of your wrist!
The game is set to release December 7th, 2018 and is only $29.99! This is a great price for a fantastically fun game, I would also go as far as saying this is the type of remasters that we should be getting. It's fine to have a remaster every once in a while, if it is a classic title that came out two generations ago but I do feel that remasters are starting to become too much of a trend. If we get more remasters of PlayStation 2, PlayStation 1, Xbox, and Gamecube classics I'll be the first one at the gate to buy the game. The King of All Cosmos has knocked out all the stars in the sky after a particularly rambunctious night of fun. Realizing his mistake, The King has tasked his young son, The Prince, to go to Earth and roll up as many things as possible to recreate the missing celestial bodies. Paper clips, books, cars, buildings, mountains, and continents, nothing is too big or small for The Prince and his adhesive Katamari ball. Katamari Damacy REROLL will feature remastered graphics and cut scenes as well as new motion controls optimized for the Nintendo Switch.
Using the left and right Joy-Con controllers while the Nintendo Switch is in TV mode or Tabletop mode, players can move The Prince around with ease by simply turning their wrists. “Katamari Damacy is a game of pure joy. From the whimsical story, colorful graphics, cute characters, and delightful J-pop soundtrack, the game simply exudes light-hearted fun.” said Abelina Villegas, Associate Brand Manager for BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “We aim to delight returning fans of the franchise as well as those who may not have had a chance to be on the ball the first time around with Katamari Damacy REROLL.”
