Optic Gaming Victorious in Call of Duty World League Dallas Tournament

The Call of Duty World League Dallas Open, 3-Day Tournament, concluded in a stunning fashion, with Optic Gaming reigning supreme over the never-say-die team EUnited.  Come inside to find out how it all went down and what Optic Gaming took home.

Being from Texas, our unofficial motto has always been, "Everything's Bigger in Texas".  The motto was true-to-form with this past weekend's 3-day Call of Duty World League Dallas Open eSports tournament, presented by Playstation 4.  Several teams lined up to play in, what would be, an epic tournament with $200,000 on the line and qualification for the CWL Global Pro League, for a chance at a grand prize of $1.4 million.

After countless hours of gaming, the tournament came down to Atlanta Open Winners eUnited vs Optic Gaming.  The Grand Finale would turn into an all-out 3-hour war, with Optic Gaming firing off on all cylinders to take a two game lead.  However eUnited, led by former MVP Gunless, would quickly fire back to send the finale to 5 extra games!

Once again, the team effort of Karma, Crimsix, FormaL, and Scump of Optic Gaming would come out to an early 2 game lead, including capitalizing on a mistake-ridden Game 2 by eUnited.  Much like in the 1st series, though, eUnited's Gunless, Prestinni, Arcitys, and SiLLY would mount a furious comeback to tie, 2-a-piece.  Unfortunately for eUnited, their Cinderella story would end in Game 5, as Optic Gaming finished one of the most memorable finale's in MLG history, in just 3 minutes.

As for The Kontrol Freek MVP, it could've gone to anyone on Optic Gaming but the consistantly clutch performance by Scump was the deciding factor.

The victory gives the Optic Gaming team a giant piece of the $200,000 prize pool to share and qualification to the CWL Global Pro League Tournament on April 20.

2nd place eUnited, 3rd place FaZe Clan, 4th place Splyce, 5th/6th place Red Reserve & Team EnVyUs, and 7th/8th place Evil Geniuses & Luminosity Gaming also booked their ticket into the CWL Global Pro League to fight for their share of the $4 million prize pool ($1.4 million Grand Prize).

The CWL Global Pro League begins April 20, 2017!
