Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water Arrives on Blu-Ray in March

Fresh off his win for Best Director and Best Original Score at the Golden Globes, Guillermo del Toro now has his eyes firmly planted on the 13 Oscar Nominations The Shape of Water has earned.  Before those awards are revealed during the 90th Annual Oscars on March 4, fans get to feast their eyes upon one of the best movies from 2018 when The Shape of Water releases digitally on February 27, 2018.  The physical Blu-ray/DVD/4k Ultra Combo Pack won’t release until March 13, 2018.

While it has become the norm for Digital releases to be earlier than the Blu-ray release, this is masterful planning by the distribution team at 20th Century Fox.  With the digital version releasing a week before the Oscars, audiences who missed its cinematic release can experience it and become invested before the winners are announced.  Then, there will be ample time to imprint the marquee awards it won all over the physical Blu-ray cover, before it releases just a week later.

It’ll be interesting to see which awards will be labeled on the box, but until then let’s talk about what we know for certain.  The Special Features.  Below is everything that will come with The Shape of Water when it is released on Digital on February 27, 2018 and Blu-Ray Combo Pack on March 13, 2018!
