Independence Day 20th Anniversary Blu-Ray Gets a Cool Collector’s Set

I remember watching Independence Day in theaters back when it first released, and it’s style of large scale destruction set the new standard for disaster movies.  The story might be a tad cliche and dated now, but the characters and action remain just as much fun.

It’s hard to believe the film is hitting its 20th Anniversary, but Fox is going to make sure people are prepared for it.  Today, they’ve announced a new blu-ray release of the film, and even has a great looking collector’s edition with a replica ship for people to pick up (though a regular blu-ray is also available).  It will land on May 3, 2016, giving you plenty of time to re-watch before Resurgence lands in theaters.
