December is one of my favorite times of the year, and it’s not just because of Christmas. Every year around this time, is when movie studios offer up their first looks at NEXT year’s big movies. This month so far we’ve already seen X-Men: Apocalypse, The Legend of Tarzan, Batman v. Superman, and TMNT 2. We know that Star Trek Beyond and Independence Day 2 will also have trailers coming up, and next week, Warner Bros. will give us our first look at Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them.
We’ve seen images of the film so far, and considering it’s set in the world of Harry Potter (and written by JK Rowling), fans are understandably eager. So make sure you keep it tuned to Cinelinx on December 15th, where we’ll have the trailer live as soon as it drops!
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling.
Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
