The wait for Dawn of Justice continues to get harder as we get another look at one of the iconic superheroes that will be making an appearance in the film (though it’s not likely to be very big). As he’s done with all Batman v Superman reveals so far, director Zack Snyder posted this image on his twitter late last night:
Wow! This is truly impressive. All fanboys know the jokes about Aquaman and how his character has been the butt of Justice League jokes for a long time, but looking at this, not a single thing comes to mind. Momoa looks incredible in character. While it’s obviously a departure from his classical orange and green color scheme, there’s no denying the homages to the comic book character. I love how his tattoos are incorporated into the design of the character, and I get chills looking at his trident (though it has more than three prongs) and symbol on his belt buckle. All in all, I can’t wait to see him in action now.
The wording on the image “Unite the Seven” is interesting mostly because we don’t know exactly what it means. Could it be a reference to uniting the seven members of the Justice League (assuming that’s how many they’re putting in the movies), or is it talking about him being the King of the Seven Seas? Hopefully we’ll know more sooner rather than later, but I’m crossing my fingers we’ll get more reveals before too long.
