Although the previous X-Men franchise film, X-Men: Apocalypse did not do as well as expected in terms of both box office and reviews, there are high hopes for the third Wolverine movie, Logan. Hugh Jackman, who is playing the clawed mutant Wolverine, AKA Logan, for the eighth time (ninth if you count the cameo in X-Men: First Class) has given us a short plot synopsis of the upcoming movie on instagram.
Jackman wrote the following… In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
This movie will also do something very rare for a comic book movie…It will open at a film festival. Logan will make its premier at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival. This is very notable because the Berlin festival generally only plays arthouse movies. This shows that 20th Century Fox has a great deal of confidence in James Mangold‘s adult, R-rated vision for the franchise. The Berlin Film Festival runs from February 9th to 19th.
