Insurgent, the sequel to last year’s post-apocalyptic teen drama Divergent, is set to release on March 20th.  In order to make time pass a little quicker for fans starving for the sequel, the studio thought it best to give us all a new trailer entitled, “Fight Back” Take a look

Frequent followers of Cinelinx’s movie reviews will know that most of us didn’t find the first movie appealing at all.  Fast forward to the present and we’ve got a second film coming out in a couple of weeks and a trailer preceding it.  I watched this trailer hoping that some part of it was going to make me like this movie more.  Instead we see a bunch of different random scenes, recap of the last movie’s premise, teen smoldering, and Shailene Woodley awkwardly holding a gun.  I’m no expert when it comes to guns but even I thought that looked off.

I had hoped to see a little more.  Give me a plotline for what to expect.  Instead, we get a trailer that in all is kinda boring and generic.  This is coming from one of the few of us who actually kinda liked Divergent.  Not being a reader of the books, I had hoped for more intel on the next movie.  Now, I just have to hope and pray that it’s better in the cinema than on youtube.

THE DIVERGENT SERIES: INSURGENT raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite.  Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them.  Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.
