Tom Brady, Malcolm Butler Having Movies Made About Them

Box Offices in New England are going to be booming soon, as two New England Patriots stars are getting the Hollywood treatment.  Come inside for more!

Tom Brady and Malcolm Butler.  Two incredible, immortal figures in NFL history are getting their stories put on the big screen.  Everyone, even those unfamiliar with football, knows who Tom Brady is.  Whether its from various movies, commercials, or the Deflategate debacle, he's pretty much a household name.

As for Malcolm Butler, he may be a guy you're less familiar with.  An undrafted free agent from the University of West Alabama, a school not known for developing NFL stars, becomes a hero of an entire region when he intercepted Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson to clinch the win for the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.  Long before that moment, he worked at a Popeye's hoping he'd get a shot at the NFL.  Sounds like a perfect film.

Lion Producer Daniel Levin seemed to have the same thought when bought the rights to Butler's life story, along with Butler's agent Derek Simpson's.  As of now, the film will be entitled "The Secondary", per the Hollywood Reporter, and looks to play out in similar fashion to 2009's The Blind Side, the story of Michael Oher.

As for Brady's movie, it may not play out quite the same way.  As previously mentioned, the film will be centered around his ordeal with the NFL's ruling in Deflategate, where he was alleged to have deflated footballs to help win games.  An act that is technically illegal, in the NFL.  It will also capture his defiant, improbable comeback win in Super Bowl LI, overcoming a 25-point deficit to win 34-28.

The Fighter's Paul Tamasy and Eric Johnson will reunite with authors Casey Shurman and Dave Hedge (Patriot's Day, Boston Strong) to pen the film.  The story will also become a book.  Both are untitled, as of now.
