20th Century Fox has just released a new clip for War for the Planet of the Apes, introducing a new character. Check it out below!
For two movies, we've followed Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his Ape brothers liberate themselves from human control. In this third film, they'll have one more Ape join their ranks, an ape by the name of Bad Ape (Steve Zahn). The following 3-minute clip shows their introduction.
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
Either years of solitude and watching his brothers die have messed with Bad Ape's mind or there is something really sketchy with him. We won't know until exactly a month from today, but there is something we can fawn over. The CGI work in this movie is absolutely exceptional. After two movies, it's to be expected. Every time I see it, though, I can't help but marvel at it.
War for the Planet of the Apes releases in theaters July 14, 2017!
