Groundhog Day Meets Scream in Happy Death Day's First Trailer

The demented producer behind Get Out, The Purge, and Split is back with his next horror flick that looks to take the horror genre and add a new twist with Happy Death Day!  See the trailer below!

Blumhouse Productions has been behind some of the most jaw-dropping thrillers in recent memory.  Movies like Split, Whiplash, Get Out, The Purge, just to name a few.  Their next film finds a way to meld Scream and Groundhog Day into one terrifying thriller.  This is the trailer for Happy Death Day!

I don't know about you but I now 50 Cent stuck in my head.  I'm actually really intrigued by this premise.  In using the Groundhog Day format, where Bill Murray relived the same day over and over, director Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) is able to find new ways to generate deaths and events, after each death.  Blumhouse has found their niche with refreshing the thriller genre, so it's easy to believe that this will be their next hit.

Blumhouse (Split, Get Out, Whiplash) produces an original and inventive rewinding thriller in Happy Death Day, in which a college student (Jessica Rothe, La La Land) relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.

Happy Death Day releases in theaters Friday, October 13, 2017!
