We knew it was coming but when you hear it from Chris Pratt you know it’s real.
The sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World is set to debut its first trailer this Thursday during Thursday Night Football, when the New Orleans Saints take on the Atlanta Falcons. Chris Pratt himself made the announcement during NBC's Sunday Night Football Pregame Show, sporting his Seattle Seahawks 12 jersey. J.A. Bayona will be directing the film that was written by former director Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. Reprising their roles as well will be Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, B.D. Wong as Dr. Henry Wu and Jeff Goldblum will also return as Dr. Ian Malcom. This will be the fifth installment of the franchise. Filming was complete the past July and the film has a release date of June 22nd 2018.
Accompanied by Pratt was a swanky new teaser trailer, below:
With a box office that made it the fourth highest grossing film of all time, we knew it was only a matter of time before the money sweats had Universal getting the next installment out. Frankly, I enjoyed the resparking of this franchise. Here’s hoping this is great because this is the second of a planned trilogy but as we’ve seen before the dinosaurs make the money.
