Bruce Willis has a Death Wish, and we have a new trailer and poster.

The year is 1974 a former military man whose family is taken from him turns vigilante to hunt the people responsible for taking his wife and child from him. I’m not talking about Frank Castle, The Punisher (who made his first appearance Feb of that year), but I am talking about character Paul Kersey who is the main character of the film series Death Wish. Today is 2018 and the vigilante is being rebooted for big screen once more. Let’s check out the 2nd trailer (and poster) for the movie below:

In this reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish. Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his city's violence when it is rushed into his ER - until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family's assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media's attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper.

 DEATH WISH POSTER

This film franchise began with a novel by Brian Garfield and was quickly turned into a film 2 years later, and although the film was trashed by critics during a time of increasing crime rates in the US, the audiences loved it. The movie starred Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, a plain and rather non-descript architect whose wife and daughter are victims of a home invasion/ robbery. When his wife dies and daughter falls into a catatonic state he goes to the police for help but gets nowhere. Paul takes matters into his own hands and seeks justice his own way.

Reboots for this movie have been in the works since 2012. Joe Carnahan was slated to write and direct the film, but different directors were brought in and left the left It wasn’t until early 2016 that things were finally solidified with Eli Roth directing and Bruce Willis as the Lead.
