The drama has been heavy with the future of the Fast & Furious franchise. And this is sure to add fuel to the fire, as the Hobbs & Shaw film has found it's director.
Tyrese has been publicly angry at The Rock for moving forward with Fast & Furious spin-off centered around his own character. The Rock has not seemed to care what Tyrese has said. We knew that a film centered around The Rock's Luke Hobbs character along with Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw was coming. And now according to the official twitter of The Fast & Furious, we have our director.
The script has been turned in and penned by Chris Morgan, who has written every script since Tokyo Drift, The film is tentatively set to have a release on July 26, 2019, before the planned Fast & Furious 9. David Leitch entered directing with Chad Stahelski, with a bang with John Wick, and can be seen later this summer directing Deadpool 2.
The public Fast & Furious feuds have been a roller coaster of entertainment. While Tyrese has been the most vocal, The Rock recently spoke about his issues with franchise star Vin Diesel.
Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer, and what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.
He also ellaborated on weather or not he would return to the main storyline of the franchise
I’m not quite sure. Right now I’m concentrating on making the spinoff as good as it can be, but I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have…Actually, you can erase that last part about ‘no ill will.’ We’ll just keep it with the clarity.
As thje drama continues we look forward to more info on where the story of Hobbs & Shaw will take us.
