Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle - Netflix Reveals New Trailer and Release Info for Andy Serkis' Film

Mowgli: Legend of The Jungle, Andy Serkis' take on The Jungle Book story, will have its long-awaited debut on Netflix in December. The film will have a limited theatrical release before arriving on Netflix and an expanded release in the US and the UK afterward.

After a long wait, Mowgli: Legend of The Jungle, will be coming to Netflix on December 7th. The film, Andy Serkis' gritty take on the Jungle Book story, was originally going to be released by Warner Bros. in October, but Netflix unexpectedly bought the rights to the film in July, making this Netflix's most expensive acquisition to date. The film aims to present a more realistic take on the Mowgli story (which is set in 19th century India), which follows the young Mowgli (Rohan Chand) as he finds himself torn between the world of the jungle (where he was raised) and the human world, where he ostensibly still belongs. The film will have a limited release starting November 29th and then a wider release in the US and the UK following the film's premiere on Netflix

Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend. Mowgli (Rohan Chand) has never truly belonged in either the wilds of the jungle or the civilized world of man. Now he must navigate the inherent dangers of each on a journey to discover where he truly belongs. Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys and Naomie Harris lead an all-star cast along with newcomer Rohan Chand in this visually spectacular and emotionally moving adventure.
