Pixar Unveils Two New Original Films at D23!

Dinosaurs and the human mind may sound like topics best reserved for the Discovery channel, but that's not the case.  These are the new plots for Pixar's next couple films.  To find out more details and how exactly is directing the two films, hit the jump.

So right about now, Disney is taking LA by storm with their D23 event.  For people who don't know, D23 is Disney's answer to Comic Con, their big show every year that attracts huge talent and tons of fans.  This year especially, with films like John Carter and The Avengers hitting the stage in high fashion.  Sadly, none of us from TMP could be there, but we're still here to bring you the big news from it via secondary sources!  And that's something, right?

D23

Anywho, for those looking for more Marvel specific announcements, check back later.  Currently, Disney has just finished there Pixar portion of the conference, which celebrated the company's 25 year anniversary (with cupcakes and all!)  During the Pixar presentation, a light was finally shone on two very mystery Pixar projects.  Straight from the mouth of the Disney/Pixar twitter feed, here's the scoop on the two projects:

What if that life-changing asteroid missed Earth? Director Bob Peterson’s hilarious tale depicts a world where dinosaurs never went extinct.

From director Pete Docter comes an inventive new film that explores a world that everyone knows, but no one has seen: inside the human mind!

So yeah, vague details, but still pretty freaking exciting.  I'm happy that Pixar is returning to original properties again.  And from both the director's of Up, Pete Doctor and Bob Peterson.  The premises are promising, and the directors are fantastic.  I'm excited for Pixar again, that's for sure!

Up

The first film, referred to as The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs, hits Fall 2013.  The second film, referred to now as The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside The Mind, hits Summer 2014.  Quite a long wait but, hopefully, it will be worth it.
