'Mirror Mirror' The Official Title of Tarsem Singh's Snow White Movie

For the longest time (even with filming going on) we've all had to refer to Tarsem Singh's upcoming Snow White film, as Untitled Snow White Project, or Tarsem's Snow White.  Relativity Media has now announced the official title.

Seriously...It was getting to the point where I was beginning to think the film would actually be called Tarsem's Snow White.  They didn't seem in any rush to change or announce a title, and on the whole, I didn't think that'd necessarily be a bad thing either.  But Relativity has put a stop to that now by sending our a press release for the new title:  Mirror Mirror.

Tarsem's Snow White

Those of you that are familiar with the Snow White tale probably recognize this as the phrase the Evil Queen utters to get the magic mirror to work.  Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about it. It gets the point across, but when you compare it to the competing Snow White movie (Snow White and the Huntsman) it doesn't sound as powerful.

I guess this goes to show the differences between the two films.  Either way, here's the press release which also features a plot synopsis (which I honestly can't recall if it's been released yet):

Relativity Media announced today that the long-awaited title for its upcoming spectacular reimagining of the classic Snow White fairy tale is Mirror Mirror. Filming for the comedy action adventure wrapped in mid-September under the stylish direction of Tarsem Singh (Immortals, The Cell). The theatrical release date is set for March 16, 2012.

The newly titled film Mirror Mirror, stars breakout star Lily Collins (The Blind Side) as an exiled princess who enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright and Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts as an evil Queen who steals control of a kingdom, in a magical adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.  The film also stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the object of their affection, Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen.

Rounding out the cast are: Sean Bean (HBO’s Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King), Mare Winningham (Brothers) as Baker Margaret, Michael Lerner (Elf) as Baron and Mark Povinelli (Water for Elephants), Jordan Prentice (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), Danny Woodburn (Watchmen), Sebastian Saraceno (Bedtime Stories), Ronald Lee Clark (Epic Movie), Martin Klebba (Pirates of The Caribbean) and Joey Gnoffo (The Benchwarmers) as the Seven Dwarfs.
