Kevin Tancharoen will be bringing Mortal Kombat back to the big screen (at some point) for Warner Bros. but before that, we'll get a second 'season' of his popular web-series, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, which now has an official trailer for you to ooh and ahh over.
I enjoyed the first season of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web-series. I thought it was a fairly well done series that showed a lot of potential, and this second season will determine whether or not they can fulfill that potential. If I were to base this judgment solely on the new trailer, I'd say they were at least heading in the right direction. It looks to keep in line with what they established in the first series, with some minor changes in the casting. Most notably they got Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa to be Shang Tsung! If you don't remember, he's the guy who played thr role in the original 90s film. That just got my nerdy juices flowing!
There is potential here, as well as some things I'm not entirely sold on. Even so, it's a decent trailer and the series looks like it could be awesome. I'm hoping it does, because remember, the guy behind this is also handling the upcoming movie. If he can't pull off this web-series, how likely is he to do well with the movie? All in all, I'm keeping positive about it, what about you guys?
