We've known for a while that 2015 is set to be an epic year for movies, with several highly anticipated movies, and franchise reboots on the way. The great news right now, however, is that all of those films we're looking forward to are finally going into production. One of which, just started up yesterday, in Alan Taylor's Terminator: Genesis.
I know that not everyone is terribly excited about another Terminator movie, due to the franchise's decline over the years, but I'm pumped for it. I didn't hate Salvation like everyone else did, but I do feel the series' turn to more action rather than a time-traveling sci-fi adventure has hurt it. So I have high hopes for Terminator: Genesis, even if there's not much reason for it right now. Yesterday, SkyDance Productions took to their Facebook page to announce that production on the newest Terminator movie has started filming officially.
Obviously, this image isn't much to go on, and shows us nothing of anything from the film itself, but it's still exciting to hear that work on the next film in a beloved franchise is moving forward. While we still don't have a full cast list, or even details on the plot, we do know these actors have been hired on: Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson, and, of course, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Terminator: Genesis is slated to hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
