Disney has really been enjoying its 3D lately. The upconversion for Beauty and the Beast apparently hit well with people who attended this year’s Show West, and Disney has been hyping up that film for a long time. However, delays have pushed this film out of Disney’s theatrical schedule. Now, it seems like it will skip the theatrical route all together, and instead go straight to Blu-Ray...but still in 3D. More after the break.
I’m excited for this, but not because of the 3D. I’m just happy to finally have two of Disney’s classic films, Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, finally available on Blu-Ray. The 3D aspect, however, doesn’t get me excited in the slightest. Still, it’s mildly disappointing to know that we probably won’t see these two films in 3D on the big screen, where it certainly belongs. However, I’m not sure anyone was marking their calender for that release, though.
