Filming has officially wrapped on DCEU's next film, Wonder Woman! Check out what Director Patty Jenkins had to say.
It's official! Patty Jenkins' comic book movie directorial debut is halfway done and she couldn't be happier! Jenkins released a few tweets thanking her epic cast of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine and even commemorating the day with some history.
So happy and excited to have wrapped the first Wonder Woman film!! And one William Marston’s birthday, no less! (WW’s creator)— Patty Jenkins (@PattyJenks) May 10, 2016
That's right, the Wonder Woman movie finished filming the same day as the creator of Wonder Woman's birthday. That can't be a coincidence. A part of me has to think that this was the deadline all along.
Nevertheless, the DCEU is at a bit of a crossroads after Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice's less-than-successful run in theaters. DC and WB are hoping that Wonder Woman is the juice they need to envigorate fans. After Gadot's perfomance in BVS, there is a lot to be excited about.
The June 2nd film in 2017 will show Diana's rise to battle-tested warrior as she fights alongside the soldiers in World War 1. It will be one of many standalone origin stories for every member of The Justice League.
Wonder Woman marks the first female led superhero film, since the "Universes" began. Marvel has assured fans that Black Widow will be their next heroine to have her own movie, followed by Captain Marvel.
Wonder Woman will hit theaters at it's new bumped up date of June 2, 2017!
