Announced this Summer during San Diego Comic-Con, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness now has a screenwriter attached to pen the script.
We still have a little bit of time before Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange sequel hits theaters, but at least we know who’ll be writing the script. Collider has reported that Jade Bartlett (who most recently tackled the final draft of the upcoming horror film, The Turning) will be penning the new Marvel Studios adventure with the Sorcerer Supreme.
Announced during the massive Marvel panel at SDCC this year, we know the film will explore the multiverse (it’s in the title after all) and is poised to be “the first scary Marvel film.” Elizabeth Olsen will be feature in the film as well, reprising her role as Scarlet Witch, and that SOMEHOW her Disney+ show, WandaVision, will directly connect to the film.
For a movie that’s still a couple years out, that’s a surprising amount of info to have! Still, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for any more details. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness is slated to arrive on May 7, 2021.
