In a move that should please just about everyone, it’s been announced that Jill Soloway has been tapped to write and direct a film adaptation of Red Sonja after Bryan Singer was removed from the project earlier this year.
Singer’s involvement with Red Sonja raised eyebrows from the beginning, due to the allegations of sexual abuse. Because of that (and for other reasons), it’s a great relief to see that Jill Soloway, creator of Transparent, will be writing and directing the film instead.
There’s no word as to when the Red Sonja film might arrive, but with Soloway at the helm, it’s bound to be worth the wait. What do you think about this news?
