As James Wan’s Mortal Kombat movie moves closer to the start of filming, news has come out that Indonesian actor and martial artist Joe Taslim has been cast as Sub-Zero.
There has been a lot of anticipation surrounding this reboot of the Mortal Kombat film series, especially since it was announced that James Wan, director of Aquaman, would be producing the film, with Simon McQuoid directing. It’s hoped that this film will be the one that finally does the Mortal Kombat video game series justice. This excitement should definitely grow with Joe Taslim joining the film as Sub-Zero, one of the most well known characters in the series.
Joe is probably best known to audiences in the role of Jaka in The Raid (2011), his breakout role, and he has also played Jah in Fast & Furious 6, just to name a few examples.
Mortal Kombat is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on March 5, 2021.
