If you enjoyed Split (which well and truly signaled the director’s return to everyone’s good graces), then you’ll be excited to hear some of the first details on his next film, Glass. The title was announced today by the director himself, who also revealed a number of exciting details fans will be elated to hear.
For one, he’s confirmed that Glass is, in fact, a sequel to Unbreakable and Split. The big surprise in Split is that it was connected to Unbreakable, which many consider one of his best films. But that’s not ALL. M. Night also confirmed that Bruce Willis will return, along with Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price (or Mr. Glass) from Unbreakable. On top of that Anya Taylor-Joy will reprise her role as Casey Cooke, with James McAvoy coming back as well!
Better yet, we’ve also got a release date. Glass will launch on January 18, 2019. So we still have a little bit to wait, but considering the script was just finished and the incredible cast coming back, I think it’ll be worth it. Fans have been clamoring for an Unbreakable sequel for a LONG time, and now, just about 17 years later, it’s finally happening.
The news today feels unexpected, befitting a director who loves to surprise people, but I’m sure as hell not complaining. I’m eager to see how the story collides together and more than excited to see one of my favorite directors getting me hyped up again. What do you guys think? Are you excited for Glass?
