Deadline is reporting Michael Rooker (Guardians Of The Galaxy) has signed on to join Fast & Furious 9. He joins series vets Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson. As well as Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren who joined in The Fate of The Furious, and newcomer John Cena.
With a script written by Dan Casey and Justin Lin, the 10th installment into the franchise is set for a May 22, 2020 release. Diesel is producing the sequel through his One Race Films and Lin for Perfect Storm Entertainment.
The most recent spinoff of the franchise, Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw, is in theaters now, racking up dollars at the box office. The Rock and Jason Statham lead film currently sits at over $400 Million, with just over 2 weeks in theaters.
