As far back as the conception of a Venom film fans have been skeptical. Mostly as it appeared Spider-Man would not appear in his arch nemesis’ film. They eased our worries with the announcement of Tom Hardy as the lead anti-hero. However we quickly turned back to skepticism. However then Sony through Riz Ahmed and the possibility of Carnage at us, and we were happy. Momentarily. So they gave us Academy Nominated actress Michele Williams. Still we clamored for the Web-head.
We had a glimmer of hope back in June during a very confusing interview in which Amy Pascal said that the Venom and Black Cat/Silver Sable films would be in line with the MCU, which lead to a very confused Feige. Later Feige confirmed that was not the case, which once again left us more confused.
However, once again, rumors are circulating that there is hope for Spidey to at least make an appearance in the Venom film. Now these are pure rumor and speculation with no source to back up what is being said other than the trust of someone who is linked to the industry.
This morning on the daily movie news show, Collider Movie Talk, Jon Schnepp, a frequent panelist said that he has had conversations with people involved, and he knows that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will appear in Sony’s Venom film. Schnepp said:
“Spider-Man is going to be in Venom. For the last couple of months, we’ve been hearing how Sony is keeping it all separated, and Spider-Man is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but every other character that’s in the Spider-Man universe is separate. All I’m saying is that Spider-Man—and I’m talking about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man—is going to be in Venom.”
He goes on to say that he is not sure if it is a small walk by cameo, or a larger cameo, but he speculates that there will be interaction with Peter Parker played by Tom Holland. Once again take this with a giant grain of salt as no one from the studio has confirmed any of this. Not to mention that Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, and Spidey himself Tom Holland have all denied the Wall-Crawlers involvement in the film.
