One of the original, and creepiest, characters created for Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark takes center stage in the film’s latest poster.
Don’t be surprised if you missed this new poster when it arrived last night. For some reason they decided to drop it right at the start of Marvel’s Hall H panel at SDCC, which subsequently consumed everyone’s attention. Even so, it’s a really scary looking poster for the upcoming horror adaptation:
The Jangly Man is one of the film’s new monsters (that doesn’t originate in the book) and has popped up in the film’s trailers so far. He absolutely terrifying in both instances and this poster highlights his scare factor incredibly well.
It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark hits theaters on August 9, 2019.
