After an 11 year absence, Sylvester Stallone reprises the role of John Rambo one last time in the first trailer for Rambo: Last Blood.
The title, Last Blood, is presumably a callback to First Blood (1982), the first entry in the Rambo franchise. While previous entries saw Rambo fighting in the jungle overseas, this final entry sees Rambo living a retired life in the country when his life gets turned upside down once again.
The trailer teases everything that the Rambo franchise is known for: gun fights, booby traps, and Rambo making use of his knives. There’s definitely a sense throughout the trailer that this is the last go-round for John Rambo, and it feels from this trailer that Stallone really put his all into this performance. Hopefully Rambo: Last Blood will bring the Rambo saga to a satisfying conclusion.
Rambo travels to Mexico to save a friend’s daughter who has been kidnapped by the Mexican cartel.
Rambo: Last Blood, is directed by Adrian Grunberg and stars Sylvester Stallone, Adriana Barraza, Paz Vega, and Yvette Monreal.
Rambo: Last Blood is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2019.
