I love the CGI they’ve incorporated, I love the way the characters look, and I love how fresh and new the Millenium Falcon is, but what I love the most is that this teaser feels like a heist movie in the Star Wars Universe. Granted, we thought that’s what Rogue One would be, based on the feel of the trailers, but that ended up being more about espionage and less about smuggling. Solo: A Star Wars Story has the potential to be a lot more fun than the one about stealing the Death Star plans.
Even the posters have that Ocean’s Eleven feel to them like a “Meet the Crew” sort of deal. Take a look:
My one complaint is that I’m still not 100% sold on Alden Eidenreich as Han Solo. I think more than anything it’s the voice and the attitude, for me. That feeling may change as I see more, but initial reaction isn’t that good It’s hard enough that he has to portray one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars franchise, but to also emulate the great Harrison Ford is an even bigger endeavor. An endeavor that I’m sure fans will be extremely critical of come May. What say you? Let us know @Cinelinx!
