Fans of Jane Austen’s stories will be delighted with the teaser for this new adaptation of Emma.
For those who love the works of Jane Austen, or even if you’ve never seen one before in your life, Emma has all the makings of a fun time. Adapted from the novel of the same name, Emma follows the titular character (Anya Taylor-Joy) as she sets out to be a matchmaker in her community. If the trailer is any indication, chaos ensues.
While brief, the teaser trailer does a brilliant job of bringing the era Emma is set in to life. It looks like Austen-era films that have been done before, but the done is completely different. It appears the old story is being done with some modern twists, and that’s something I’m completely okay with.
Jane Austen’s beloved comedy about finding your equal and earning your happy ending, is reimagined in this delicious new film adaptation of EMMA. Handsome, clever, and rich, Emma Woodhouse is a restless queen bee without rivals in her sleepy little town. In this glittering satire of social class and the pain of growing up, Emma must adventure through misguided matches and romantic missteps to find the love that has been there all along.
Emma is directed by Autumn de Wilde and stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Johnny Flynn, Bill Nighy, Mia Goth, Miranda Hart, Josh O’Connor, Callum Turner, Rupert Graves, Gemma Whelan, Amber Anderson, Tanya Reynolds, and Connor Swindells.
Emma is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 21, 2020.
