Don’t ask me why, but I absolutely love the first Anchorman movie. I know it’s stupid and banal at times, but it remains a film that cracks me up ever single time I see it. So I’ve been looking forward to this sequel and anxious to see if it can recapture any of the magic the first film held for me. Based on this trailer, it’s definitely doing it’s best.
Sure, not all the jokes feel fresh these days, but it’s the characters we fell in love with in the first film, and they look to have remained laregly intact. The new characters (especially Kristen Wigg) look like they can add some fun to the mix as well, and the overall story seems interesting. Could it still suck? Yeah, but I’m hopeful it’ll deliver on the same fun and humor the first did.
With the 70′s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking New York’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
What do you guys think about it? Anchorman: The Legend Contines releases on December 20, 2013.
