The final day of Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago gave us the highly-anticipated panel for the Disney+ Star Wars TV series, The Mandalorian. While, the panel, itself, was a bit of a letdown for those of us not in attendance (The people that were there got to experience a sizzle reel and a 7-minute preview of the show), it did give us a bit more clarity into what The Mandalorian will be about.
For starters, The Mandalorian is set 5 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, so we’re embarking in some uncharted territory. Pedro Pascal will, of course, be The Mandalorian, but we did find out who his castmates will be. Gina Carano is an ex-Rebel shock trooper named Cara Dune and Carl Weathers plays Greef, the leader of a Bounty Hunter Guild, and the one who sets The Mandalorian on an assignment with Werner Herzog, who appears to be the main bad guy of this arc.
As for release, it doesn’t appear that The Mandalorian will be released all at once. Instead, it’ll be 6 episodes released weekly, starting November 12, 2019.
While we are unable to provide neither the sizzle reel or the 7-minute preview, we can show you a few of the set photos (below) that were revealed during the panel.
The Mandalorian premieres November 12, 2019, the same day the Disney+ streaming service launches.
