In hulus press release:
The oddest one of this lineup to me is this villain character. Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body, who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt will also executive produce along with Jeph Loeb.
From the pages of Deadpool, Marvel’s Hit-Monkey tells the tale of a wronged Japanese snow monkey, mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts a wide swath through the Tokyo underworld in this darkly cinematic and brutally funny revenge saga. Writers Josh Gordon and Will Speck will executive produce along with Jeph Loeb.
A team-up of an Avenger and an X-Man, Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show is a story about two woke superheroes and best friends, the devilish Tigra and daring Dazzler, as they fight for recognition among powered people who make up the eight million stories in Los Angeles. Writers Erica Rivinoja and Chelsea Handler serve as executive producers along with Jeph Loeb.
star of his own 1973 comic, a 1986 movie, and last seen in locked in a Cage in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel’s Howard The Duck is trapped in a world he never made, but America’s favorite fighting fowl hopes to return home with the help of his unstoppable gal pal Beverly before the evil Dr. Bong can turn him the crispiest dish on the menu. Writers Kevin Smith and Dave Willis will also executive produce along with Jeph Loeb.
Marvel’s The Offenders, is a story in which nobody asked them to — and we’d be better off if they didn’t — but MODOK, Dazzler, Tigra, Hit-Monkey and Howard the Duck are all forced to team up in order to save the world and certain parts of the Universe. Jeph Loeb will executive produce.
When I first saw this the only thought I had was why are Marvel branded shows going to Hulu? Shouldn’t these shows be heading to Disney+ later this year? But we have two facts to take into consideration
1.Disney will have a 60% stake in Hulu after the merger. In a sense its kinda like Disney ++.
2. At the last end of fiscal year meeting, Bob Iger stated that Disney considers Hulu a more adult branded service and they aren’t looking to change that or the kind of programming that Hulu has had for years so far.
And seeing as how they clearly state that these are adult animated shows, it made sense why Hulu will be the home for these marvel shows.
Of all these shows the one I’m really Jonesing to see is Dazzler & Tigra. Mainly for Dazzler, Allison Blaire a mutant who turns sound into light energy, she didn’t do much more than create light shows which worked fine with her career as a singer. After joining the X-Men is when she really got good but they never really used her to her full potential as far as I’m concerned.
no Iron clad details were given for a release date for these shows. however, I would like to see at least one this fall but chances are we won’t get one until sometime late next year.
