Netflix and Marvel to Speed up Production of Shows

So far we’ve seen two seasons of Daredevil, one of Jessica Jones, and now the newest Luke Cage keeping us glued to screens for usually a whole weekend, yes I’m talking about myself but if the shoe fits you go on and strut with it on you. And we know that there’s more coming with Defenders, Punisher, a third season of Daredevil and now with a release date of March 17th  Iron Fist which was announced in this cool teaser on the Netflix Youtube channel. We know now that The Punisher has just began shooting and Defenders is now in pre-production to begin shooting in November. Now this is where my point hammers home because we’re seeing overlap in production schedules that only point to these series coming out more frequently. It is confirmed that the next seasons of Jessica Jones and Daredevil will not happen till after Defenders airs as well.

Now these series have done a lot to expand this universe with breakout characters like Simone Missick as Misty Knight in Luke Cage, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple/Night Nurse, and even Rachael Taylor as Patsy Walker who I hope to one day see as Hellcat. We already know that Misty will be appearing in Defenders along with Stick and the Hand returning as an antagonist. Also if you recall the end of Daredevil this season I expect Elektra may be making an appearance, bet if you wanna lose.

Remember what Marvel did with the movies, a lot of that is now mirrored in the Netflix series of not only expanding the Marvel brand but carving its own way of telling these character’s stories. I love every bit of this and I can’t help but gush as I enjoy these street level heroes. I once wanted them in the movie universe but they can stay right here as far as I’m concerned. Unless they feel like making a Ghost Rider series, now that should be money.
