Netflix has been on a roll with animated series as of late, so it’s no surprise that the streaming giant has announced a new animated series, this time based in the adrenaline-fueled world of the Fast & Furious films.
The animated series, titled Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, was announced by Netflix and DreamWorks Animation earlier today. The announcement included a teaser clip to demonstrate the animation style of the new series.
Here’s the official synopsis for Fast & Furious: Spy Racers:
“In this new animated series, teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination.”
It’s not known what connection, if any, this series will have with the live-action films, beyond the star being Dom’s cousin, but the first season scheduled to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2019.
