This morning gives us our first look at Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman prequel film, The King’s Man, showing the origins of the secret intelligence agency. Come inside to take a look!
I could tell you that I never felt a need for a Kingsman prequel, but I’m also happy to tell you that I’m always down for a fun looking film. Considering the wealth of lore associated with the Kingsman story, there’s plenty of opportunity to tell something engaging. Based off this first trailer, I’m most definitely intrigued:
Right off the bat this doesn’t look like the same Kingsman formula, and offers a bit more. It feels like a historical movie, but still bringing the flourishes from the previous films in terms of the action. Also, I’m just a sucker for the fact that Rasputin seems to be the main bad guy here. All in all, it’s a solid first look that kicks off SDCC week strong.
As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man.
The King’s Man hits theaters on February 14, 2020.
