Many studio headlines come across our desks at Cinelinx on any given day. Most are from major movie studios, and some from independent film production companies that are begging for a bit of extra attention. Hitting Rock Bottom is an innovative web series concept with a powerful message of hope to tell and was co-written by our very own Robert Young!

The first time I watched Mama, I walked away disappointed. For some reason, the special effects looked extremely artificial to me. That was my only real complaint, but it hindered my enjoyment of the film.

Iron Man 3 is a great and extremely fun way to start the summer movie season.  It's entertaining, it's funny, and the action is excellent.  It far surpasses Iron Man 2, and it almost reaches the entertainment value of the original.  Basically, it's everything we've come to expect from a Marvel movie, it won't disappoint, and you won't regret buying a ticket.  Just don't expect any real depth or to come away with anything more than a good time.

Gangster Squad, the period cop drama, has just hit store shelves on DVD and Blu-Ray.  We here at Cinelinx got our hands on the latest release in order to help you guys decide whether or not this film is worth adding to your home entertainment collection.

H.P Lovecraft's From Beyond marks the second entry in Director Stuart Gordon's slate of films based on the writer's works. Shout! Factory delivers another cult classic on Blu-ray for the first time packed with extra features and consisting of an Unrated Director's Cut. It's just the sort of royal treatment this piece of 1980's horror history deserves.

Phantasm II is one of the best representations of the Hollywood horror movie boom of the 1980s. After years of genre filmmakers scrambling for cash to get their productions up and running, many studios were looking to cash in on the terror craze. Universal chose to throw money at Phantasm and give it the opportunity to go bigger and better.

The day Sam Raimi fans have been either anticipating or dreading for 30 years is upon us. The remake of Evil Dead has taken over theaters. Most enthusiasts of the original horror trilogy wanted another sequel. That's definitely not what we get in this gore fest.

My first exposure to the films of Takashi Shimizu was "Ju-on: The Grudge." I remember seeing it and literally gripping my armchair in horror while hoping the freaky dead lady crawling down the stairs wouldn't find a way out of my television to get me. I also remember thinking to myself, "Why can't Americans make horror flicks like this?"
