Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Cautiously Optimistic
Reasoning: The marketing has been a mess for First Class, but I have enough trust in Matthew Vaughn to believe he'll deliver something great. The rushed production, however, does make me a little worried.
Expect: X-Men, But Younger and in the 60's.

Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Expecting Great Things
Reasoning: Sex comedies are awesome. British comedies are even cooler. Thus a british sex comedy must be amazing, right?
Expect: British raunchy humor. A.K.A the best kind of British humor.

Antico-Meter: Oh Hell Nawh,

Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Through the Roof
Reasoning: Instead of geeking out about the reasons I need to see this film (you'll be hearing that from me all Summer), let me just keep things simple; if every movie in Summer 2011 died except this one, I would be happy. I'm not being hyperbolic.
Expect: Awesomeness and Lens Flares.
Release: June 17 (Wide)
Genre: Sci-Fi Adventure, Superhero
Rated: N/A (Probably PG-13)

Logline: One of us...becomes one of them.
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Peter Sarsgaard, and Temura Morrison
Writers: Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim, and Michael Goldenberg
Director: Martin Campbell
Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Don't Get the Hype
Reasoning: After the recent trailers, more and more people are joining the Green Lantern camp. I, however, still don't see it. The overabundance of CGI really takes it down for me. But if anyone could pull it off, it would be Martin Cambell.
Expect: Lots of CGI, Cosmic Elements, and Ryan Reynolds
Release: June 17 (Wide)
Genre: Family Comedy
Rated: PG for mild rude humor and some language

Cast: Jim Carrey, Carla Gugino, Ophelia Lovibond, Angela Lansbury, and Phillip Baker Hall
Writers: Sean Anders, John Morris, and Jared Stern.
Director: Mark Waters
Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Sadened
Reasoning: I like Jim Carrey, but the fact that he's doing this shows why he'll never be taken seriously and get an Oscar. Damn shame, because he easily deserves one. Still, I guess if you needed a holdover until Cars 2, you're kids might enjoy it.
Expect: Penguins ah Dancing, with Jim Carrey doing wacky things in the background.
Release: June 24
Genre: Comedy
Rated: R for sexual content, nudity, language, and some drug use.
Synopsis: A potty mouthed, drug using teacher tries to raise money via school fundraisers to get a breast enlargement in hopes of impressing a new, wealthy teacher.

Cast: Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Jason Segal, John Michael Higgins, and Phyllis Smith
Writers: Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg
Director: Jake Kasdan
Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Trying to Hard
Reasoning: Bad Teacher is trying so hard to be raunchy and cringe inducing, it forgot to make me laugh.
Expect: Cameron Diaz swearing like a sailor (because it's funny).
Release: June 24
Genre: Animated Family Comedy
Rated: N/A (Probably PG)
Synopsis: Lightning McQueen and his country friend Mater travel the world to compete at the royal Grand Prix. But things get complicated when Mater finds himself wrapped up in a tale of espionage.
Logline: The Mission Begins in Cinemas This Summer.
Cast: Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Michael Caine, Jason Isaacs, and Bruce Cambell
Writer: Ben Queen
Director: John Lasseter
Trailer:
Antico-Meter: Really Don't Care
Reasoning: I thought not having a Pixar movie to sink my teeth into this year would make the summer feel incomplete, but I'm quickly noticing that I keep forgeting that Cars 2 even exists. Really speaks to how good this Summer looks to be.
Expect: Talking Cars, People Laughing at the Jokes of Larry the Cable Guy, and me dying a little in the inside.
Well that does it for June. Check back later this week for the final two months of our Summer Movie Guide!
