Nintendo Revealed an Animal Crossing Special Edition Switch & I’m Freaking Out

Where is Tom Nook when you are in a pinch and could use some extra Bells?

The special edition Nintendo Switch features pastel blue and seafoam green joy-cons and the dock sports adorable art featuring Tom Nook and his nephews Tommy and Timmy standing on an island out at sea, which falls in line with the premise of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The backside of the hand-held home console is embossed with nautical- and camp-themed images.

The New Horizons themed Switch is retailing for $299.99 and is set to launch on March 13, a week before the launch of New Horizons on the 20th, and will not include a copy of the game. Nintendo also announced that a special Aloha edition carrying case and screen protector will launch alongside the console for both the standard and Lite edition systems.

The system is available for pre-orders through certain retailers, such as GameStop and Best Buy, but hasn’t popped up on Amazon quite yet.

Nintendo made the special edition console announcement on the same day they announced there would not be a new model of the console released in 2020.
