As always, there is a ton of news to come from PAX! On Tuesday, March 10th the founders of Boss Key Productions, industry veterans Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee, revealed that Epic Game’s Unreal Engine 4 will be used to power Project Bluestreak.
“We considered several options regarding what technology we’d use to build ‘Project BlueStreak’. Ultimately, we found ourselves coming full circle to my friends at Epic Games and the elegant solution for rapid and quality game development that is Unreal Engine 4,” said Cliff Bleszinski. “We look forward to making a top-tier product through this partnership.”
Project Bluestreak is a free-to-play first person FPS grounded in a recovered post-apocalyptic sci-fi world. You can subscribe to their website to receive “first-to-know” updates about the game!
The Unreal Engine 4 strikes at my heart again in this pre-alpha video for Project Bluestreak. I believe there is always room for quality free to play games, and with the rising success of FTP games like League of Legends and Team Fortress 2 there is room for Project Bluestreak to succeed.
