Arcade1Up wasn’t done with reveals at E3 as this afternoon they unveiled a brand new machine based on the classic Star Wars arcades, plus other new machines!
If you thought Arcade1Up‘s reveal of new Marvel and Ninja Turtles cabinets were all the awesome things they had to show at E3 (like I did), you were wrong. Don’t worry though, in instances of stuff this awesome, it’s not a bad thing to be wrong.
This afternoon, the Arcade Cabinet makers showed off more amazing machines they’re releasing this year. First off are some “cocktail tables.” These are the table-style arcades that allow two players to sit opposite one another and play or use it as a table. They have two versions they’ll be releasing “later this year” for $499; So it’s a little bit more than their standard units, but considering they also include eight games, that’s understandable.
The Pac-Man arcade features: Pac-Man, Pac & Pal, Super Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and more. The Street Fighter table includes a handful of different versions of Street Fighter, along with Ghosts ‘N Goblins, Commando, and more.
That’s not even the best part! On the E3 show floor, they pulled the curtain back, literally, on their biggest announcement: a Star Wars arcade! This machine emulates the original Star Wars Arcade, right down to the funky looking control scheme and will include the Arcade versions for Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. This unit is slated to arrive in November (hello Christmas gift!) and will come in under $500.
All in all, these things are looking amazing and it’s almost like Arcade1Up is specifically trying to take all of my money this year. Will you be bringing any of these new arcade machines home this year?
Be sure to stay tuned to Cinelinx all week as we’ll be reporting live from the E3 show floor once again, and will bring you all the latest news and impressions via our Event HUB!
