A new way to experience the Resident Evil universe is on the way. Capcom went to TGS 2019 to show off their new 4v1 game, Project Resistance. Here’s how it works…
The Resident Evil series has become a stalwart in the video game world. Capcom continues to churn out these horrific games and, more often than not, they’re well-received. However, Capcom just revealed a new style of game for the Resident Evil universe we never knew we needed.
They’re calling it Project Resistance (working title) and it pits 4 survivors vs 1 mastermind. The 4 survivors must attempt to break out of an underground compound where hideous experiments are set to be performed on them. Meanwhile, the 1 mastermind is behind the scenes setting traps, releasing terrifying zombies, lickers, hounds, and even controlling Tyrant for the first time in Resident Evil history.
Here is the first trailer for Project Resistance:
In a lot of ways, Project Resistance feels very reminiscent of the game Evolve. Evolve was also a 4v1 game that pit 4 mercenaries against 1 terrifying beast. While Evolve crashed and burned, Project Resistance has all the makings of being an exciting, intriguing experience.
Attendees of TGS 2019 are finding out what Project Resistance is like right now, as Capcom has it at their booth. Fortunately, you at home will be able to do some hands-on testing, yourself, with the upcoming Closed Beta.
Xbox Insider Program members and RE Ambassadors will be eligible for a chance to participate in the Project Resistance closed beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The closed beta will run from October 4 through October 7. Registration will be open between Sept. 11 and 18 by clicking here.
As more news for Project Resistance is released, we’ll have it here.
