Cyberpunk 2077 Release Delayed Until Fall

CD Projekt Red announced today that the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 will be delayed from its April release date to later this year.

In a joint message to fans, CD Projekt Red Co-Founder Marcin Iwinski and Studio Head Adam Badowski say that Cyberpunk 2077 “won’t make the April [16] release window and we’re moving the launch date to September 17, 2020” in order to finish playtesting the massive world built around Night City.

This news follows the announcement earlier this week that Square Enix moved Final Fantasy VII Remake’s release date from March 3 to April 10 in an effort to have the game be more polished, a message from the studio said on social media. Square Enix also announced that Marvel Avengers would be pushed back to September 4 as well.

The game and it’s core concept was originally announced in 2012 and CD Projekt Red stayed silent on it until Cyberpunk 2077 was revealed at E3 in 2018.
