Days Gone made quite the impression when it was first showed off at E3 2016. Being the first game from Sony’s Bend Studios in nearly a decade (they used to be the Syphon Filter team), gamers were intrigued at what the devs would bring to this all new IP. Taking place in a post-apocalyptic setting, players take on the role of a biker/outlaw trying to survive in the new world against “Freakers.”
It’s appearance with a swanky game-play demo at E3 2017 impressed us even more (that damn BEAR!) and players were excited to get their hands on it at some point in 2018…Well, that didn’t happen. Back in March, they announced the game would be pushed into 2019, and slated for a February 22nd release date. Sony’s announced gamers will have a little bit longer to wait. The PS4 exclusive will now arrive on April 26, 2019.
It’s not a big delay, and Sony says it’s mostly to push it away from other big releases (Metro Exodus, Anthem, and Crackdown 3 are all supposed to release the same day) and give the devs some more polish time. Delays aren’t a bad thing, generally, and with the wealth of other games launching at the end of THIS year, a couple more months will help you get caught up on that backlog.
