EA announced that the new service will launch with 15 games already added to their library, such as Battlefield Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Sims 3, and This War of Mine, and with the promise that the library will gain more titles from EA and independent developers over time.
Here is a complete list of titles currently available in “The Vault:”
- Battlefield 3
- Battlefield 4
- Battlefield Hardline Digital Deluxe
- Dead Space
- Dead Space 2
- Dead Space 3
- Dragon Age: II
- Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition
- Dragon Age: Inquisition Digital Deluxe
- FIFA 15
- Need for Speed Rivals: Complete Edition
- Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare
- The Sims 3 Starter Pack
- This War of Mine
In addition to full access to the library of games, you will also be able to play EA titles coming to PC for a limited time before they’re released (stats and saves will carry over!). If you decide to purchase games you’ve had early access to you will receive a 10% on Origin purchases.
And if you weren’t convinced to give it a shot, let Bill Nye lure you in!
Personally, it is a product that I would definitely be interested in (hello Dragon Age!) but my concern would be about a stale library. What will the quality of games be that we’re getting? Are we talking early days of PlayStation Plus? Will we get a few games a month like Games for Gold and PS Plus or will “the Vault” get new titles added sporadically throughout the year? I need a feel for what to expect as far as what library expansions over the next several months will be like before I can take the plunge and sell EA any more of my soul. If anyone is planning on taking a chance and subscribing right out of the gate, feel free to let me know why!
