November is looking like quite the monster month for video games, with the release of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Fallout 76, and Hitman 2. Not helping matters is the new Pokemon game coming to Nintendo Switch, Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee!. News and videos for the game have been quite scarce since its Nintendo Direct reveal and various footage from E3 2018. Today, however, we have a new trailer that brings back to the forefront of our minds that we are about to partake in one of the greatest Pokemon adventures, yet!
Here is the latest trailer for Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee!:
When this title was first announced, I was so excited for the prospect of playing, battling, catching, and co-oping in a Pokemon adventure on console. The only question was, “Should I choose Pikachu or Eevee?”. At E3 2018, I had the opportunity to play a demo of Pokemon: Let’s Go and the experience really made my excitement level plummet. That’s because the unfinished game felt more like a console version of Pokemon Go! rather than Pokemon Yellow. My biggest issue stemmed from catching wild Pokemon. Instead of sending out Pokemon to capture wild Pokemon, you threw Pokeballs and fruit at them to catch ’em all, much like Pokemon Go!. Plus, capturing a Pokemon in co-op is more of a competition than both participants getting the Pokemon.
It’s unclear if both of those will still be the case or if there will be a toggle to play the more traditional way, but this trailer actually reinstilled my excitement for this game. Just being able to experience the Kanto region on an actual console and getting into battles with gym members with more elaborate graphics has restored my faith in this game and has made it quickly become a must-have once again.
