Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes Is Super Short!

If you are like me, you are patiently waiting to get your hands on the next Metal Gear Solid title. The next in line is MGS5, but before that we get a prologue game called Ground Zeroes. Well Game Informer already has their hands on it, and according to them…. it’s extremely short.

Being a prologue we expected this. It will lead into a story and be shorter than the actual core game, but how short is it? Well according to Game Informer they completed the entire story in less than 2 hours. Yeah…. that is short.

This did not include side missions or console specific exclusive missions, so perhaps the game can be extended a bit with those, but still. Two hours?

Being a Metal Gear fan I bet those two hours will be absolutely amazing, but thats what sucks. A game that is so good with the story that only lasts two hours is going to feel like its lacking content. Hell MGS4 was rather long and I still wished it lasted longer. For comparison sake, this is basically the length of the “Tanker” mission in MGS2. Again another prologue, but that one came with the actual game.

To top things off, the game is rather expensive for a prologue. Two hours of content will cost you 30 dollars on “last gen” consoles, and 40 dollars on current gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One. This isn’t the first game to be split up into a prologue and core game though. Gran Turismo did something similar with a small selection of cars and small selection of tracks before the actual game released.

What do you think? I’m still excited, just wish it was longer!
