The heroes of Overwatch could be coming to Nintendo Switch soon. At least, that’s what we’re taking away with the new Overwatch Nintendo Switch case leaked by Amazon. Read on for more information.
Since Overwatch released 3 years ago, it’s been one of the most successful games of Activision/Blizzard‘s vaunted games lineup. It’s amassed millions of recurring gamers, billions of hours logged, tons of merch sales, and even its own esports league. While Blizzard has made it available in every possible capacity, the one console that’s been left out in the cold is Nintendo Switch.
Back in 2017, Overwatch game director, Jeff Kaplan used the Reddit AMA to convey optimism and the challenges about porting the team-based shooter to Nintendo Switch.
“I’m loving the Switch!” Kaplan said. “My second favorite gaming platform of all time is the 3DS. Getting [Overwatch] on the Switch is very challenging for us. But we’re always open minded about exploring possible platforms.”
Fast forward 2 years later and it looks like Blizzard is gearing up to release their team-based shooter on Nintendo‘s mobile console. A new listing on Amazon revealed an Overwatch-themed Nintendo Switch case that included a note that this case is “officially licensed by Nintendo and Blizzard Entertainment.”.

The listing was quickly taken down shortly after it was posted on Twitter.
Usually when these leaks happen, the announcement isn’t too far away. However, considering that there have been rumors of a Nintendo panel at November’s BlizzCon 2019, it’ll be fascinating to see if they stick to their guns and reveal in November or release a last minute direct, assuming it’s even real.
Regardless, we’ll know that answer either in the coming week or in November. If neither party even mentions it, then we’ll know it was all a hoax, but if it’s real it could mean even more gamers flocking to the epic multiplayer game of Overwatch.
